HO HO Huh? Do you recognize that feeling…trying to find the perfect gift for everyone on your list? Most are fun and easy, but there is always one or two where I just don’t have a clue.
I see other shoppers with the same blank stare, walking aimlessly in the mall for hours. All we want to do is finish our holiday shopping; only to go away with nothing. Then I’ll shop online feeling equally uninspired until I’m distracted by the kids. If you find yourself feeling the same this year, I have a couple gift ideas for under $50 to help you out that always come through for me:
Gift Cards:
Gift cards are a simple yet great gifts for anyone on your list. Many restaurants have specials on their gift cards this time of year, some even offer $5 or $10 bonus cards if you purchase a $50 gift card (one for you and on one for them!). If you are a member of Sam’s Club or Costco they also offer discounted gift cards to different places.
Raise.com also has discounted gift cards to different stores or restaurants. You can buy either digital or physical copies of gift cards. If you choose a physical copy they ship you it free of charge. This might be a great option if you are looking for a gift for someone that lives in a different area.
Not sure what store or restaurant they might like then you can’t go wrong with a Amazon.com gift card as you can buy virtually anything on Amazon these days.
Gift bag or box of gourmet chocolate:
Who doesn’t love chocolate truffles especially during the holiday season! Here are a couple places in the area to check out for some handmaid delicious treats!
- Hughes Home Maid Chocolate - Oshkosh
- Oaks Candy Corner - Oshkosh
- Wilmar Chocolates – Appleton
Subscription Boxes:
Subscription boxes have become very popular over the last couple of years, with new ones popping up every month. These are perfect as a last minute idea or great for someone who has everything. If you are not familiar with subscription boxes they are boxes that contain an assortment of different products based around a common theme and are automatically delivered each month for the length of your subscription you choose.
Some of the different types of subscription boxes available are beauty and health, Kids, gourmet food, wine, beer, geek and nerd boxes or even boxes for pets. Most of the companies have a 1 or 3 month option so you don’t have to spend that much for a unique gift or are you pressured into a monthly subscription if you don’t want.
MySubscriptionaddiction.com has a good list of some of the best subscription boxes available to buy today.
Homemade Gifts:
It’s the thought that counts and what better way to say you care than something you made yourself to add that personal touch. If you are a crafty person there are plenty of creative ideas to put together, from a nicely knitted scarf, hat and mittens set, to a tray full delicious cookies and deserts. Pinterest is a great place to look for creative ideas.
Not a crafty person but still want to add a personal handmade touch then Etsy.com is the place to shop, just be sure you contact the seller to make sure the item will be delivered before Christmas.
