89 Local Crisis Agencies to Benefit from Hygiene & Cleaning Product Donations
As a mom, I fully understand the importance of hygiene with two young boys running around the house! Purchasing hand-sanitizer, Kleenex, disinfectant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, paper toweling, soap, shampoo it all adds up. And the sad truth is, less fortunate members of our community cannot afford the basic hygiene products to keep their family safe.
That’s where Winnebago Community Credit Union and Help for the Homeless campaign come in…from now until Mach 12 drop of hygiene products to help area homeless at any Winnebago Community branch. The 25th annual ‘Help for the Homeless’ hygiene drive, Feb. 19 – March 12, is coordinated by 91.9/91.5/88.5 The Family radio station and collects new toiletry and cleaning products for 89 Wisconsin crisis agencies in 15 Northeast and Central Wisconsin communities. Members are encouraged to donate hygiene items at any of our three WCCU branches. All donations remain in the local community and Oshkosh donations WCCU raises go directly the Christine Ann Center.
The Family radio network works together with area homeless coalitions and crisis programs by inviting the community to donate needed hygiene items for their local agencies through “Help for the Homeless.” Supplying the crisis programs with laundry soap, hair and dental care items, deodorant, diapers, and other personal care and cleaning products makes it possible for them to dedicate their limited financial resources to providing qualified personnel, education, counseling, safe housing, and nutritious food to those they serve.
Area communities have donated $2 million dollars’ worth of hygiene items to their local crisis programs through The Family’s Help for the Homeless hygiene drive since 2008. The goal of the drive is to supply a year’s worth of products to each agency. Donations remain in communities where collected. More details visit www.thefamily.net , or call 800-236-9364.
Help area families by dropping off donations at any Winnebago Community Credit Union location.
